Mangaluru, Nov 14: November 14 being Children’s Day began with loads of fun and entertainment at St Agnes CBSE school Mangaluru. Children dressed in their best enthusiastically participated adding colours to this beautiful day. The clear happiness on the face of the children was a joy to watch.
This year the celebration began in a unique way by children sharing their joy in giving the little things to the children who are deprived of the basic necessities. They poured in their love by bringing soaps, toothbrush, pulses etc.
The chief guest of the day was Lancy Carlo the president of Lions Club Mangalore. He along with his team were part of this auspicious occasion. The highlight of the day was the Lions club Mangalore had organised the International Peace Poster competition which had three emerging winners. Lancy Carlo honoured these students by sponsoring the prizes and encouraging them. The school also honoured the winners and all the 41 participants for their participation and bringing laurels to school.
The programme began with a meaningful prayer service by Gracilla and team, Reshma welcomed the gathering and the teachers gave floral welcome to the dignitaries. Chetana dressed as Chacha Nehru gave a meaningful message to the students. Madhura and team gave a mesmerising dance performance followed by teachers Chandrika and Sumitra gave a surprised entry and entertained the children dressing up in their favourite cartoon characters. A wishing song was also sung by the teachers.
The chief guest in his speech gave an important message to the students said, "We should give like God as how he gives us," and wished all the children on their great day. The principal too gave her wonderful words of wisdom saying children are the future of the nation. Thanking all students for their love and support and wishing them on their big day.
The programme came to a closure with Lavina proposing vote of thanks. The host of the day was teacher Vijetha with also coordinating the programme with teacher Gracilla followed by class wise lucky games to the students and giving prizes to the winners. A surprise of distribution of ice-creams to students made the day even more joyful.
The management wished all the students a very happy Children’s Day and thanked them for their generosity. Heartfelt gratitude was expressed to all parents for being generous and motivating the children for this good cause.
