Kasargod, Nov 11: The Kerala High Court has rejected the bail applications moved by the accused relating to the murder of a youth Congress leader from Perla, Abdul Basheer alias Abdul Jabbar (24) last year, allegedly by CPM activists. Accused, Sudhakar Master and Abdulla Kunhi, had moved bail applications in the court.
The High Court said that these bail applications have been rejected, as the accused, if released, might influence witnesses in the case.
The High Court, which took up the issue of withdrawal of facilities to the Central Bureau of Investigation team investigating the case by the state government, censured the government severely for this action. It has also sought explanation from the government for its action of withdrawing vehicles provided to the CBI team.
It may be recalled that Jabbar was killed at Ukkinadka near Perla on November 3, 2009, by a few men, who had been allegedly hired by CPM activists. CBI has already filed charge sheets against 14 accused in the case.
