Mangalore: Block Congress Presidents List Finalized – Puttur Left Out

Mangalore, Nov 11: Dakshina Kannada district Congress general secretary, Sadashiv Ullal, has said that the district returning officer of the organizational elections of the Congress party, Dr L Hanumanthaiah,  has released a list of new presidents for the block Congress committees within the district.

Strangely, the president for Puttur block unit of the party has not been chosen as yet. It is learnt that Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, while drawing this list, has mentioned that this slot will be filled after receiving written directions from the president of the All India Congress Committee.

While making the list, Mangalore North block has been renamed as City Block. The list is as follows:

Mulky – Former MLA, Somappa Suvarna; Suratkal – Former MLA, Vijay Kumar Shetty; Moodbidri – Meghnath Shetty; Gurpur – R K Prithviraj; Mangalore City – Former city mayor, K Ashraf; Mangalore South – J Nagendra Kumar; Ullal – Eshwar Ullal; Mudipu – Chandrahas Karkera; Panemangalore – Abbas Ali; Bantwal – Mayilappa Salian; Vittal-Uppinangady – Pravinchandra Alva; Beltangady town – Harish Kumar; Beltangady Rural – Ramachandra Gowda; Kadaba – P P Verghese; Sullia – M Venkappa Gowda.
