Udupi, Nov 13: The department of Physical Education of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management in association with the National Service Scheme(NSS) unit of the institute had organized 'Rajyothsava Trophy' cricket and throw ball competitions for men and women students and staff members respectively.

Dr Sandeep Nayak, dead department of Civil Engineering and Dr Gajanan Anne, head, department of Mechanical Engineering inaugurated the event. Muralidhara Sharma, physical education director and sports coordinator Sachin Prabhu K were present during this event.

In cricket students’ team from Computer Science and Engineering department bagged the championship while team of Mechanical engineering students stood runners up. In women’s category, final year students’ from computer Science Engineering department won the championship in throw ball and third year students’ team from the same branch bagged runners up prize. Dr Thirumaleshwar Bhat, principal SMVITM gave away the prizes for the winning teams.
