Karwar: Fishermen’s Leader, C D Krishnapura, No More

Karwar, Nov 10: Former Jan Sangh leader and former chairman of Karnataka State Fisheries Development Corporation (79), C D Krishnapura, breathed his last due to cardiac arrest on Tuesday November 9 morning at his residence. He is survived by a son and two daughters.

Krishnapura, who also was a former chairman of Uttara Kannada District Fish Marketting Federation, had fought the then Karwar-Joida constituency on Jan Sangh ticket in 1971. He had lost that election. He was the founder member of All Karnataka Fishermen’s Council, and had since some time, been its secretary.

All Karnataka Fiserhmen’s Action Committee president, P M Tandel, general secretary, Vasudev Bolar, BJP Uttara Kannada district unit president, Prasad Karwarkar, and a number of other dignitaries have offered their condolences to the bereaved family.
