Panaji, Nov 8 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi's "vindictive" campaign against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has driven it to the streets in protest, Goa's RSS chief said here Monday.
"With the Sonia Gandhi-led UPA unleashing its anti-RSS agenda, it has been decided to hold nationwide dharnas now. A dharna will be held in Panaji on November 9 to create awareness against the sustained campaign to malign the RSS," Subhash Velingkar said.
Velingkar also said that the RSS was trying to 'incorporate' the Muslim community in Goa and nearly 200 Muslims had jointly participated in a nation-building programme in the state last week.
"All the terrorists belong to a particular community, but that does not mean that all people belonging to that faith are terrorists," Velingkar said without naming the community. "Terrorism has nothing to do with religion," he added.
"The Congress is trying to polarise the Muslim community in India only to gain votes. It is also part of an international campaign to discredit the RSS," he claimed.
