Mangalore: Vishwas Trust Celebrates Deepavali with Elderly People

Mangalore, Nov 8: Deepavali is celebrated all over the world and is popular as festival of lights.

Vishwas Trust in the city here celebrated Deepavali with as many as 50 elderly people. he place was decorated with diyas which added colour to the celebration.

Dilip, who is placed at Vishwas Trust for field work briefly spoke about the importance of Deepavali.

To signify the essence of Deepavali lamp was lit by the chief guest Pushpa Sadanand, followed by Vishwas Trust director Dr Olinda Pereira, secretary Felcy Pinto, senior citize Rosa Rego and MSW student Rinju. A song was sung by staff and MSW students which brought out the meaning of light.

Pushpa Sadanand spoke about the significance of Deepavali.

Lidwin Lobo, programme co-ordinator of Vishwas Trust welcomed the gathering. Master of ceremony Treeza D’Souza compered the programme. Felcy Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.
