Mangalore, Oct 30: A grand procession from Jyothi Circle to Nehru Maidan comprising various cultural tableaux will mark the district-level Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations on Monday November 1 at Nehru Maidan in the city.
The procession has been organized in association with Bharath Seva Dal, scouts, guides, public instructions department and self-help groups, said district Karnataka Sahitya Parishat (KSP) president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura at a press meet held here on Saturday October 30.
Forty-four people from the district will receive the Dakshina Kannada district Rajyotsava award-2010 on the occasion. The award-winning achievers include senior litterateur D G Nadya, Sanskrit Vidwan Derebail Harikrishna Tantri and social worker Lancy Mascarenhas.
Later a cultural programme will be presented by the children of Canara High School in Town Hall.
Kannada activists Navneet Shetty and G K Bhat Seraje were present at the press meet.
