Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 18: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, October 18 reported 22 new coronavirus cases, while Udupi registered 3 cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,108 out of which 315 are currently active.
As many as 32 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,668.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 11,85,836 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 3 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 76,589 out of which 44 are currently active.
A total of 33 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday.
Among the 3 cases, 2 cases are symptomatic and 1 is asymptomatic.
While Udupi reported 2 new cases, Kundapur registered 1. Coronavirus has claimed 475 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,07,222 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 4,64,737 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far and one case is active.
