'Buyao Rocks Konkani' by Siddhanath Released Amid Glittering Ceremony

Margao, Oct 29: 'Buyao Rocks Konkani' audio album by noted musician Siddhanath Buyao, which has already recorded a pre-launch booking of almost 3000-odd CDs online, was released by minister for public works department Churchill Alemao here on Thursday October 28.
The gala event which was organised as a tribute to the late Goem Shahir Ulhas Buyao in Ravindra Bhavan at Margao, was witnessed by almost a thousand people. The programme was followed by music, dance and comedy by noted Tiatr artistes. The dance troupe of Mandd Sobhann from Mangalore performed on the occasion. Famous brass band from Honnavar too enthralled the audience with Konkani songs.
Fr Conceisao Silva, noted lyricist and vice-president of Ravindra Bhavan Shridhar Kamat, poet John Aguir, Mac Vaz of Goan Treasure, Sanman Kenkre of Big FM radio, assistant editor of 'The Navhind Times' Deric Almeida, Tiatrist Prince Jacob, Nephie Rod, Roshan, Akshada Talaulikar were present on dais.
Addressing the gathering, Alemao said that he would always support the cause of Konkani and Konkani music. He appealed to the Goans to come forward to promote their mother tongue.
He praised the Tiatr fraternity for conveying a social message through Tiatr and said that he would always help them to give something good to
Konkani people across the world.
Alemao also praised Siddhanath for his efforts in taking Konkani music worldwide.
Shridhar Kamat expressed his happiness over the launch of the album and urged the artistes to be united to take the palanquin of Konkani to greater heights.
Siddhanath speaking on the occasion said that his aim is to take Konkani music everywhere and he would try his best to give good music to the people always.
He said that the medium of social networking site Facebook made it easy for him to reach out to people and his album recorded bookings of 3000-odd CDs online. On the occasion around 350 CDs were sold.
'Buyao Rocks Konkani' consists of nine songs penned by Shridhar Kamat and John Aguir. It has two original composition of the late Ulhas Buyao, one of which 'Mangurachea Sharant Ek Chedu Dekhila' is sung by Anita Samson from Mangalore along with Siddhanath. Prince Jacob, Nephie Rod, Roshan, Akshada Talaulikar have also sung in this album.
Prince Jacob, Humbert, Ben Sally, Peter Roshan, Francis de Tuem, Marcus Vaz, Xavier Gomes, Benzer, Steffy and other artistes performed on the occasion, much to the delight of the audience.
Anant Agni compered the programme. Siddhanath performed various compositions of his late father.
