Kasargod: Mother ends life along with daughter by jumping into well

Kasargod, Oct 18: In a tragic incident, a 34-year-old woman ended her life by jumping into a well along with her 2.5-year-old daughter near Nileshwar here.

The mortal remains of Ramya (34), resident of Kadinjamoole of Nileshwar and her baby daughter were found in the well near their house on Monday October 18.

Both mother and baby went missing on Sunday. The family members and locals searched for them extensively in the vicinity of the house. Finally, the bodies were found in the well on Monday morning.

Fire service personnel who arrived from Kanhangad, brought the bodies out from the well. The mortal remains are kept in the mortuary of the district hospital. Police confirmed that the same will be handed over to the family members after the post mortem.

It is said that the deceased Ramya was undergoing psychological depression for some time. Her husband is Prateesh, who is a native of Kollam.

Nileshwar police have registered a case in this connection.

    Just I observed ,there is a big marking at the neck.is it a operation marking?Was she operated or any other marking?suppose she had some operation on Thyroid gland ,that too might a be a cause on to her depression to a certain extent .One should really investigate further in her private life.Only so one can findout about her suicide reason.

    Many suicide cases rising day by day . Many of them not known or published on news. Due to this corona many people's dreams shattered. May be some are struggling no jobs. Many of them canot afford to pay loans. Also rising prices for everything. I know suicide is not solution for this. But when you are mentally blocked people take harsh decisions due to afraid of society. Our Government promises lot of facilities to the people of country but in real nothing much reached due to corruption. And there is no tough punishment for corruption .Sometimes many people under depression due to family issues either by Fater/ Mother in laws. Or husbands harasment. Also sometimes wife's too many demands.

    Ahmed mangalore,it is a very sad thing that she jumped into well with baby.It is nothing of the kind od of what you said.Here nothing about family situation is mentioned.Only about her suicide.Where was her husband as wife and child missed?Something here is missing.how was their situation at home ?I also would lie to mention sometimes women after delivery,do get sick with this post martum depression.They simply sit and dont bother about child,its feeding ,herself dont care ,etc.May be she was not treated properly ?Why she was not given immediate care to this?Or she was very upset because it is a baby girl?And husband was abusing her?One never know.kindly give immediate attention to such women who get depressive after delivery.second home people also must lookafter her with more love than hate.She is not responsible for delivering a baby girl.That everyone must keep in mind.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.Investment must be done here in family circle.Poor baby ,may their souls find peace in Heaven.

    This is a very sad situation, religious leader from any religion should initiate different awareness programs on sucide issues and help them with guidence. Everything has become so commercial these days, we need to pay to get spiritual guidance.

    Very sad news. The community leaders, organisations and Government agencies should do something to stop the rising number of suicides. Every year thousands of young men and women are dying by suicide, mainly from the majority community. Apart from other reasons, I feel this is also one of the causes of population imbalance in India.
