Mangaluru, Oct 15: Defending holding ‘Trishul Deeksha' for Bajrang Dal (BD) activists at office of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) at Kadri in the city during Ayudha Puja, VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell said that the event was held to boost self-confidence and courage among the activists.
He said, “Several people are opposing the 'Trishul Deeksha' programme organised for the BD activists. We have not given bombs or grenades. We have offered 'Trishul Deeksha’. We are worshippers of 'Shakthi'. We have given it for self-defence of our activists and the protection of our 'Dharma'. We have organised this Trishul Deeksha to boost self-confidence and courage among the activists.
"Trishul Deeksha is being offered to newly joined activists. Due to Covid, we could not hold the programme in the last two years. This time, during Ayudha Puja, we held the programme. It is not against anyone. It is not given to kill or harm. Trishul Deeksha was given to increase self-confidence among the activists."
“The Trishul is made of steel. It is not even sharp which can harm anyone. We have organised this programme as per law. We did not hold this programme for the public. We have organised it at our office. Those activists who have various responsibilities in the organisation have been given this Deeksha. Through our camps, we are making the youth contribute to the nation,” he said.
