Bengaluru, Oct 6: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D K Shivakumar criticised the ruling BJP regime for its attempts at saffronisation of all sectors, including government jobs and education.
Addressing a news conference at the KPCC office in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Shivakumar alleged that the RSS was attempting to fill top posts in all sectors in the State Government and also in the education sector while those owing allegiance to RSS affiliate ABVP are appointed at Teachers, Professors, Lecturers and even Principals of schools and colleges in the State.
The filling up all sectors with RSS men is their style of functioning and we call it saffronisation, he said and warned that the tendency was harmful to the country’s harmony and integrity.
The State Congress Chief alleged that law and order system has collapsed in the State and attacked the ministers and BJP legislators and other leaders of creating disturbances in different parts of the State and causing unrest in the community. This tendency is rampant in all BJP ruled States, which is dangerous, he warned.
The statements by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishtra on the year-long agitation of farmers against the Modi government’s farm laws were indicative of their mindset.
Shivakumar demanded that the murder cases must be registered in the inhuman murders of farmers in Uttar Pradesh and condemned the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for not allowing Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rahul Gandhi and even Punjab and Chattisgarh chief ministers to visit Lakhimpur near Lucknow.
