Mangalore, Oct 22: The Mangalore Coastal Round Table 190 (MCRT 190) in association with Novartis India Ltd. held a Free Bone Density Camp for Osteoporosis checking at Bendore St Sebastian Church Mini Hall on Friday October 22.
The camp was attended by over 100 people. The camp started with Dr Derek Lobo, consultant for United Nations, who declared the camp open. There was a checking of bone density by Novartis followed by consultation with Dr Ronald Menezes, orthopaedic surgeon, associate professor at KMC Mangalore.
Such a test is not available in Mangalore and costs between Rs 600 to 800 in the metro cities.
MCRT 190 was represented by Mr Arjun Pinto, chairman, Mr Ajith Gonsalves, chief convenor of the event. Santhosh Kumar, field sales officer of Novartis was present on the occasion.
