Moodbidri, Oct 5: Raghavendra Kulkarni from Bengaluru reportedly had married a lady from Beluvai village near here. Now, his wife has come to know that he married another lady by cheating her. A complaint has been filed in this regard in Pandeshwar women's police station here.
Raghavendra Kulkarni is from Andralli in Basaveshwara extension, Bengaluru. On June18, 2017, he had married a girl from here at Raghavendra Math at Laggere Bengaluru as per Hindu customs. He also collected a dowry of one lac rupees at the time of the marriage, the complainant stated
After the marriage, reportedly, Raghavendra often inflicted physical torture on his wife. After his wife gave birth to a child, he did not come to pick his wife and child from her parental home. His wife and child went to the house of the husband in Bengaluru. Within three days, however, Raghavendra drove both of them out of his house.
Now, Kulkarni's wife has claimed that her husband married another lady named Gowri at Honnava Mantralaya Math near Tavarekere last month. She said in her complaint that before marrying her, Raghavendra had married another girl and then divorced her, but kept this information a secret when marrying her. Raghavendra married a third time without divorcing his second wife.
The complaint names Raghavendra Kulkarni, his brother Narahari, uncle Narasimha, aunt Geetha, sisters Premala, Savita, Ranganath and brother-in-law Naganath. Pandeshwar women's station inspector Revathi went to Bengaluru along with other staff and searched for the accused. They have taken Narahari into custody while the other accused are absconding. It is said that the brother-in-law of the accused, Naganath, called the police who visited Bengaluru to arrest the accused over phone and hurled filthy abuses at them.
