The decision taken at the programme for 2010 - 11 was to persuade the government and the university to open a sub-centre of Mangalore University in Udupi district. The office of the Manglore University in Konaje is nearly 80 kilometers from Udupi and more than nearly hundred kilometers from Kundapur and other rural places! Since the university is placed in an area which is very faraway from the places mentioned, it has been extremely difficult for the students of Udupi district, specially the girls to visit the University office. So, all the necessary measures will be taken by the association to persuade the necessary authorities to open a sub-centre of the Mangalore University in Udupi district.
Further, it was decided to form anti-drug awareness and campaign in all the colleges with the co-operation of the Udupi district police. There has been an alarming increase in the number of drug peddlers and
the use of drugs among the students today, especially in the urban areas of Udupi district. Therefore, the All College Student Association, Udupi district has decided to form an anti-drug student cell in the colleges of Udupi district with the co-operation of district police.
