Puttur: Rape Attempt of Girl – Grandfather Commits Suicide

Puttur, Oct 19: The local policemen arrested a person accused of offering monetary inducement to a minor girl and trying to rape her at Kodippady in the outskirts of the town. The arrest was made on Monday October 18. In the meanwhile, disturbed by the incident, grandfather of the girl committed suicide on Monday evening by consuming poison.

Abubakker (40), a resident of Kabaka, a fish vendor by profession, has been accused of meting out sexual harassment to this 12-year-old girl from Kodippady, when she was walking towards her home in a deserted street near her home on Saturday October 16. He had also offered money to entice the girl to cooperate with him. The girl, who studies in the sixth standard, reported the matter to the family members. The family had, thereafter, lodged a complaint with the town police station here.

On Monday, Abubakker was arrested. On producing him in the local court, he was remanded to 15 days judicial custody. The grandfather of the girl was reportedly very much hurt and shocked at this development.

    Very sad and horrific incident. Send this Aboo Backer to gallows immediately. These dirty animals have no place in civilised society.. Instead of sending him to judicial custody, the judge should have sent him to police custody, where his spine would have broken and made him motionless. Whether it is Aboo Backer or Tony or Shanker or Singh, these animals must be taught the last lesson of their life time. My heart doesnt beat for these vultures.....Filthiest of all creatures....
