Kundapur, Oct 19: Ahead of the proposed visit of the state Chief Minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa, to Kollur Goddess Mookambika temple on October 23, a preliminary meeting was organized on Monday October 18 in the premises of the auditorium of Yadtare gram panchayat, under which Kollur is located.
Shimoga MP, B Y Raghavendra, presided. Both district and taluk level officials from various departments participated. The meeting held discussions about initiating various works including underground drainage in Kollur and development works in the temple, multi-village drinking project in Yadtare,Byndoor, Paduvari and Shirur villages and various other projects totally worth Rs 116 crore, during the CM’s visit.
Raghavendra said that the Chief Minister will also address a public meeting in Byndoor Gandhi Maidan during his visit, and expected about 15,000 people to attend the meeting. Different departments were entrusted with the responsibility for ensuring that the functions being held on this occasion go on as planned, without any hitches.
Chief secretary of the CM, Lakshminarayan, Udupi deputy commissioner, Hemalata P, district superintendent of police, Pravin Madhukar Pawar, district in-charge secretary, Ramesh Jalaki, tahsildar, Lalanki Ravi, assistant commissioner, Sadashiv Prabhu, MLA, K Lakshminarayan, and various other officials and people’s representatives attended the meeting.
