Mangalore, Oct 17: A J Institute of Management(AJIM), a unit of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust(LMET) organized a two-day workshop on the theme ‘Personal and inter-personal effectiveness’ for the second year MBA students at the Institute campus, recently.
A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between A J Institute of Management and Crossland College, Brahmavar during the inaugural programme.
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr P S Yadapadithaya, registrar (evaluation), Mangalore University. He stressed on the importance of soft skills in the corporate world. He also added that to survive in the corporate world mere qualification is not adequate but a management student should possess domain-specific knowledge.
Professor Samuel K, principal, Crossland College, Brahmavar was the guest of honour. He highlighted the significance of soft skills and urged the students to actively participate and derive the best from the workshop. He also added that the MoU is a must between the institutions as it gives a wonderful exposure for students.
The presidential remark was delivered by Dr T Jayapraksh Rao, director, A J Institute of Management. Candida Quadros, faculty of A J Institute of Management welcomed and introduced the guests.
Preview of MoU was given by Surekha Nayak, faculty of AJ Institute of Management. Deekshith and Grazil, students of AJ Institute of Management compered the programme. Asha, student of AJ Institute of Management proposed the vote of thanks. Prashanth Shetty, vice-president, LMET was also present on the occasion.
The formal programme was followed by the workshop. Dr p s Yadapadithaya was the resource person. As many as 10 co-trainers were present.
