Mangaluru, Sep 3: On the second day of restarting of the second PU classes in the twin-districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi on Thursday September 2, there was an increase in the number of attendees. Out of 29,700 students who got admission, 16,567 from Dakshina Kannada district attended physical classes. As many as 2,589 among them were hostel inmates and 166 were from Kerala. On the first day on Wednesday, 10,500 students had attended classes.
Classes were held with 50 percent attendance in tune with Covid guidelines. The teachers had prepared a list of students on a rotational basis so that they can attend classes on alternative days. The other students attended the classes online.
In Udupi district, 67.04 percent students attended ninth standard while 67.84 percent attended tenth standard. In the aided schools, 71.71 percent students in the ninth standard and 72.97 percent students in tenth standard came to schools. In the unaided schools, 59.29 percent students attended ninth standard and 61.6 percent attended tenth standard. Ninety percent students attended PU classes.
