Gadag, Sep 3: Taking exception to the remark made by former chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, that BJP state in-charge, Arun Singh, is visiting the state to collect suitcase, minister for social welfare and backward classes welfare, Kota Srinivas Poojary, said that the JD(S) may be having such a culture but not in the BJP.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday September 2, Poojary said that Arun Singh is visiting the state to beef up party organization. He termed as baseless the allegation that he comes to collect suitcases. He hastened to add that the JD(S) may be having such a culture.
Poojary said that his party definitely does not expect former chief ministers Siddaramaiah and Kumaraswamy, to praise the BJP’s style of rule. "Their comments are unhealthy, and we will provide a fitting reply in an appropriate forum," he said. He acknowledged that there has been delay in releasing the incentive and that he would organize a meeting of top officials of the department at Bengaluru on Saturday September 4 to see that the money is released at the earliest.
He said that there have been complaints that release of grants for residential projects have been delayed. He said that the officials have been suitably advised. He promised to address the problems connected with hostels soon.
In his reaction to Kumaraswamy's statement, minister B C Patil, observed that Kumaraswamy has failed to exercise control over his tongue and advised him to desist from issuing statements like these.
