New Delhi, Oct 4 (IANS) India's men's 4x100 metres freestyle relay swimming team qualified for the finals after they finished sixth in the heats at the Commonwealth Games here Monday.
The team comprising Virdhawal Khade, Aaron D'Souza, Arjun Jayaprakash and Anshul Kothari clocked 3:28.06 seconds to qualify for the final at the S.P.Mukherjee Aquatics Complex.
In the final, Indian swimmers will start from the seventh lane behind Canada, England, Australia, South Africa, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
In men's 50m backstroke, Badrinath Melkote clocked 27.52 secs to qualify for the semi-finals and Subha Chittaranjan entered the last four stage in women's 50m butterfly with a timing of 29.96 secs.
Indian swimmers failed to qualify in women's 200m freestyle, men's 400m freestyle, women's 200m individual medley, men's 200m butterfly and women's 50m breaststroke.
