Kundapur, Aug 31: The municipal council members unanimously decided in the ordinary meeting held on Tuesday August 31, to protest if the project director refuses entry to the municipal council from the national highway (NH) .
Gopalakrishna Shetty, the chief executive said that water stagnates at Basrur underpass, service road is not proper, street lights and high mast lights are not erected. Chandrashekar Kharvi said that cases should be filed against national highway officials for unscientific works.
“The highway officials should provide basic facilities. A copy of the meeting minutes should be sent to the MP and the MLA. The work should be performed from base level,” he said. Prabhaker, Abu Mohammed, Nagaraj Kanchan, Rathnaker and standing committee president Shaker Poojary joined their voices.
Parking issues in the council limits were discussed. The members urged for action against buildings coming up occupying part of the road.
Sridhar Sherigar questioned government land occupied by others in the council limits. Chandrashekar Kharvi requested for action against loud horns. Prakash Kharvi said that bus drivers should be warned against reckless driving. Prabhaker Pushpa Shet joined his voice.
Serious discussions were held about the UGD issue and Mescom problems.
President Veena Bhasker Mendon presided over the meeting. Vice president Sandeep Kharvi, standing committee president Shekar Poojary and chief executive Gopalakrishna Shetty were present.
