Mangaluru: Interactive career guidance programme held at University Evening College

Mangaluru, Aug 26: The much needed direction for the student youth to make them clear there where they would see themselves their future is very important at the threshold of every graduation entering student. From this perspective it is the duty of every Institution to eye open the students towards all explorations-said Dr Subhashi Srivatsa, principal of University Evening College organizing Four days Interactive Guidance Programme on “Exploring Career Prospective” exclusively for PU Students from August 23 to 26.

Venkatesha Nayak, Dept of MCom was a resource person for the first day in the session on “Structural Reformations in Degree Education: New National Policy Perspective”. In this session discussion on changes with regard to Subject and Discipline choices were made clear to the students.

On August 24, the second day, resource person Arun F Sequiera, Dept of BCA has presented a session on “Career Navigation towards Science” in which the education career choices in the field of Science were been explored.

Third day was been set to discuss on “Career Road map through Commerce and Management Education” for the students. Kavya P Hegde, the resource person from the Dept of MCom has opened a wide arena of Career Building choices in Commerce Education. A discussion on “Multidimensional Opportunities in Arts Education” has been conducted on August 26, last day of the programme. Madhushree J Shriyan, Dept of History has resourced a session, explaining diversified and extended opportunities through studying Arts Discipline.

These four days interactive sessions were been moderated by faculty of the college, Harinakshi, Venkatesh K G, Raghavendra and Dr Rathi respectively. The benefit of the program has been shared by 158 students from different colleges through online.

The programme was compered by Steevan D Souza, department of MBA(IB). Dr Rathi from department of Economics was the coordinator of the programme.
