Bengaluru, Aug 25: For the first time in its history, Karnataka police department tested modern methods and proved some accused as drug addicts by testing their hair samples.
Sandalwood actresses Sanjjanaa Galrani, Ragini Dwivedi and ten others who had secured bail are now facing fresh trouble. On Monday, the central crime branch (CCB) police here filed an additional charge sheet of over a hundred pages which included the hair follicle test reports. In addition to the above actresses, Ravishankar, Viren Khanna, Rajhul Tonse, African native Lum Peper Samba, Prashanth Ranka, Vaibhav Jain and a few others have been proved to be drug addicts. In the hair sample tests, it is learnt. Investigation to find out whether the accused are also drug peddlers, is continuing.

The police said that four reports including the one pertaining to Aditya Alva, son of former minister Jeevaraj Alva and Srinivas, are yet to be received.
The CCB police had cracked the Sandalwood drugs case in September last. Sixteen persons were arrested and charge sheets were filed. Home minister Araga Jnanendra said in Shivamogga that the actresses will be acted against as it has been proved that they had consumed drugs.
