Mangaluru, Aug 21: The diamond rings which were in the ears of a body went missing, it is learnt. Kadri police said they have not received official complaint.
The rings were in the ears of Harish Shetty (45), manager in the security section of the City Centre Mall here.
Harish Shetty from Padil, who currently was living in Ballalbagh here, had visited Kundapur on Thursday morning along with wife and children. When the family was having lunch that day in a hotel, he had collapsed. He had been admitted into a hospital where the doctors said he had died of heart attack.
In the evening, the body was kept in the mortuary of a hospital at Bendorewell. At that time, the golden chain around Shetty's neck had been removed. As it was found too hard to remove the rings in the two ears, they were left in the ears as it was felt that they could be removed during the funeral. The security staff at the mortuary were informed of this.
However, when the body was taken out on Friday morning, it was found that the diamond rings had gone missing from the ears, said the friends of the deceased.
