Mangaluru, Aug 15: India’s 75th Independence Day Celebrations initiated at St Ann’s campus with the flag hoisting, hosted by St Ann’s Composite Pre University College.
Sr Julie Ann AC, provincial councillor, unfurled the national flag. The festivity was solemnized with nationalistic fervor in Carmel School. Sr Rose Agnes, the administrator set the tone in her sweet flowing words of welcome.
The programme commenced with an invocation beseeching God’s blessings on the country and its citizens. Significance of the day was enumerated by Niharika Prashanth and Piya P Nayak.
The students paid tribute to the motherland and martyrs through song and dance. “Nation First, Always First, United We Stand, Humanity Matters” - to substantiate the theme, the artistes of Carmel School under the direction of V J Dixon, Proud Indian Awardee 2021, reverberated the sequence of events that sparked the spirit of patriotism, appreciation and gratitude in every heart.
Sr Sarika AC, the principal, in her inspiring message gave a wakeup call to everyone to strive to build a better nation. Nisha Menezes effectively compeered the programme.
