Mangaluru, Aug 7: The night and weekend curfew is in place from Friday August 6 night. The curfew will come to end on Monday August 9 morning.
Shops dealing with food, groceries, fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, dairy and milk booths, and animal fodder will be allowed to function from 5 am to 2 pm. Unnecessary movement of public is strictly prohibited.
All gatherings including, social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious and other gatherings are strictly prohibited. Marriages are allowed involving strictly 100 people adhering to the Covid-19 guidelines. Cremations/funerals will be allowed with 20 people.

Police checking vehicles
The police were seen strictly checking all the vehicles at entry points to the city on Friday night.
Very few people were seen moving around in the city. Only a handful of private and government buses are plying. A few shops are open and running their business.
It was also seen that people were standing in queue without maintaining social distance at Wenlock hospital to take vaccination.
