Belagavi, Aug 6: Unrequited love has claimed a life. A youth who said he is madly in love with a 16-year-old girl, stabbed her multiple times till she profusely bled and collapsed, for not reciprocating his feelings. This incident happened within the limits of Harugeri police station limits. The accused and the victim belonged to different communities.
The youth, Ameer Jamadar, repeatedly stabbed a 16-year-old girl on the road at Terdal village and caused her to meet a very painful death. It is said that Ameer was in love with the girl for a long period, but the girl had refused to fall in love with the boy. Angered by her reluctance, Ameer killed the girl he was in love with in broad daylight.
Jamadar stopped the girl in the middle of the girl and said that if she fails to do what he asks her to do, he wouldn't let her live. He stabbed her in the right hand first, and then in the abdomen and chest, inflicting deep wounds. The girl was returning to the family farmhouse after visiting the village fair at Harugeri along with her younger sister. The girl was writhing in pain on the road in a pool of blood. Her end came when being taken to hospital.
Immediately thereafter, officials from Harugeri and Kudachi police stations began to search for the accused. The parents of the girl had shifted to Harugeri from their native place to work and feed the family, P K Naganur village in Athani taluk. But now they repent for the decision taken to shift base. The girl was good at studies, and a decent girl belonging to a middle class family has become a victim of the quixotic act of a road-romeo.
The boy, after pushing and pulling the girl by her hand and stabbing her at will, was beaten black and blue by his own friends. He escaped and hid himself in the sugarcane fields. The police along with the locals searched for him and finally found him.
