Bantwal: Carmel College, Modankap conferred with Green Champion Award

Bantwal, Aug 4: Carmel College Modankap Bantwal has been conferred with Green Champion Award by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India for its contribution to Swachhta Education and Practice. The awards, given to only one institution per district, were announced on the occasion of Earth Day. Nearly one thousand higher educational institutions participated in the ‘One District One Green Champion’ Awards organized by MGNCRE. The college has carved out a niche as the Green Champion of the district Dakshina Kannada.

On August 4 the award was honored by the Mahatama Gandhi National Council for Rural Education, department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education in the presence of Dr Rajendra K V deputy commissioner Dakshina Kannada. In his speech, he called on young people to play an important role in environmental protection. He applaud Carmel College's Swachatha Action Plan 2020 21 (SAP) Committee significant contribution to 'Clean Education and Practice'.

Melvin, a member of the Mahatma Gandhi National Board of Education, said, "It is a great pleasure to honour this award to Carmel Degree College Modankap from Dakshina Kannada district. He requested Each college to implement cleanliness and hydropower.

Principal of the college, Dr Sr Latha Fernandes AC, student leader of the college's National Service Scheme Unit Melvin and Tejaswi National Service Scheme Co ordinator Madhura K and Deepthi D'Souza participated in this programme by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India for its contribution to Swachhta Education and Practice.
