Chikkamagaluru, Aug 2: BJP national general secretary C T Ravi, dismissed as untrue the rumours which claim that he has been growing his beard with an eye on the chair of the chief minister. "I have been growing a beard since my college days. It is a part of my identity," he added.
Speaking to Media persons here on Sunday August 1, Ravi said he too had heard that as per a divine prediction made at a Hindu centre of faith, the next chief minister will be a person sporting a beard. While asserting that his intention of growing the beard was not aimed at becoming the chief minister, he asked the people to wait and observe who will henceforth start growing their beards.
Ravi said he expects Bommai to function well and that the party functionaries will support everything he does for the state's interests. He said that the ministry expansion will keep in mind social justice and regional balance. Referring to the controversial Mekedatu project, he urged the chief ministers of both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to come together and design the Mekedatu project in a way that is beneficial to both the states without allowing politics to creep in.
