House construction row: Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat extends support to minister Kota Poojary

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (DV)

Udupi, Jul 31: MLA Raghupathi Bhat came out in the support of minister Kota Srinivas Poojary over the issue of his house construction on Saturday July 31 and said that misleading rumours are being spread against minister Kota Srinivas Poojary over the construction of his house.

He said, "MLAs and ministers building houses is not an offence. If they indulge in corruption or illegalities, then it is an offence. The picture of the house clearly states that it is a house constructed at the cost of Rs 60 lac. Kota Poojary was appointed as MLC for three terms. He is receiving salary and other honorariums.

"Kota Poojary is not constructing a huge bungalow or constructing a Ta 50 crore house like others," he said.

The MLA also said that Kota Poojary should not bother about such rumours. "In politics, such rumours are common. People will not give importance to such rumours. These things are common when the cabinet expansion is round the corner. People who oppose Poojary or Congress party workers might have done this. In politics, we should overcome all such things," he said.

why is it only bureaucrats and small time officials get raided by ED & Income tax. Why not set the record straight by investigating this fellows construction. He is a public servant and he must be subjected to checks/balances!! what's wrong with it? ministry or civil servent ? How does this Bhatta knows he is honest and clean? why support someone from within a party ? unless proper investigation is carried out? Politicians are there only to build their own selves and make hay when sun shines for 5 years.
