Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jul 31: Even though the industrial sector of the district suffered due to two successive lockdowns, the food processing and production units did not suffer. In fact, inflow of investment into the food and beverages sector has increased. After the lockdown of the second coronavirus wave, industrial activities have gained momentum again.

As there are a large number of food and beverages units in the district, MSME industrial entrepreneurs are investing on a large scale. There are four industrial areas in the district in Shivalli, Nandikoor, Belapu and Miyyar while three industrial settlements are located in Shivalli, Karkala and Koteshwar. As at 2020, there were 15,280 such units employing 1,17,085 people. Investment in these units amounts to Rs 1,91,552.52 lac.

Although I support Cashew and Coconut oil Industries, I oppose any eatable Industry. There is nothing Good for health in eatables like chips, chewda, wafer snacks, biscuits, Bakery products of sugar and Maida etc. But there are many people nowadays who think about time and effort at the cost of Health and then paying money for medicines. Cant help them but at least make them aware. That is the only motive of this post. Take it or leave it. .
