Tumakuru, Jul 31: E-library of the city, which was the lifeline for students who were preparing for competitive exams during the lockdown time, is attracting the attention of other cities.
Tumakuru Smart City Limited (TSCL) started this E-library at a cost of Rs 1.45 crore in the campus of district central library in 2019. So far 10 lac people have made good use of this library. In addition, 11,000 people have physically visited the library.
Nalinakshi, MA, BEd degree holder says, “My friend Sudha got a government job after reading extensively in E-library. Now I am also following her path. I am aiming to get a job in Railways.”
Hayagreeva, who is preparing himself for the NEET examination, also makes use of a digital library. He said that he does not have a computer at home and the digital library is very helpful to him.
Many people have rented rooms near the E-library and are making good use of it. Naveen, who is a postgraduate, is a resident of Pavagada taluk of the district and he is using the digital library to prepare for KAS examination.
