Mangaluru: Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes recovering post surgery

Mangaluru, Jul 31: Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes, who is under medical treatment at Yenepoya hospital of the city, is recovering.

Oscar underwent surgery on the night of Monday earlier this week, to remove a clot in the blood veins of his brain. The surgery went on till early morning of Tuesday. His health is getting better day-by-day.

It may be recalled, Oscar was admitted into a private hospital here after he suffered head injury due to fall when practising Yoga at his home last week.

While he had been for routine dialysis, he underwent a check-up for a severe headache. As he had internal injuries, he was admitted to the ICU in the hospital. A plethora of senior Congress leaders including former chief minister Siddaramaiah and State Congress chief D K Shivakumar, have visited the 80-year-old Congress veteran.

Party workers have been offering prayers at all places of worship for Oscar’s speedy recovery.
