Jul 29: Dakshina Kannada records 396 new Covid cases, 8 deaths; Udupi reports 174 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 29: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, July 29 reported 396 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of positive cases to 99,660.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 12,50,972 samples have been tested, of which 11,51,312 are negative.

There are currently 2,551 active cases in the district.

As many as 200 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday and raising the number of recoveries to 95,699.

The district recorded eight deaths due to coronavirus on Thursday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,410.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 99,98,817 in fines for 82,210 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 7,75,608 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 174 new cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 69,472 out of which 1000 are currently active.

A total of 66 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total recoveries to 68,058. Coronavirus has claimed 414 lives in the district so far.

5,05,748 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,79,948 have received the second dose.

    The COVID positive cases are alarmingly increasing in Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka State. Hope the administration is taking enough precautions to flatten the curve. It is also our responsibility to stop the spread of covid by following all the related rules.
