Mangaluru, Jul 28: Two including a lady hailing from Ullal were arrested on Tuesday July 27 in connection to a honeytrap case under Ullal police station limits.

The arrested are Azwin (24) and Hatijamma (23).

The duo were residing at an apartment at Ullal. They came in touch with a neighbour and invited him for dinner. During dinner, they consumed alcohol and clicked photos and videos of the 32-year-old victim. Further, they threatened him of uploading the photos and videos on social media. The duo threatened the victim and took Rs 2 lac and an ornament. A complaint was filed for extortion.

The incident took place on July 19 and the complaint was filed on July 23. The duo was arrested and Rs 70,000 was seized from their possession. They were produced to the court.

Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar appealed people not to hesitate to file complaints in such cases. “I appeal to the public to share such information with the police. The information will be kept confidential,” he said.
