Bengaluru, Jul 26: Taking potshots at outgoing Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, who broke down at a function in Vidhana Soudha on Monday while announcing his decision to resign from the coveted post he had occupied for the fourth time, KPCC President D K Shivakumar asked Yediyurappa to disclose the reason behind his tears while stepping down.
“This is not the tears of an ordinary individual but the Chief Minister of the State. What are the reasons behind the tears and who caused such a situation? Who is responsible for the pain inflicted on the Chief Minister?’’ Shivakumar asked and urged Yediyurappa to disclose the truth so that people know.
Offering his reaction to reporters who met him at his residence, the State Congress Chief said, “Yediyurappa doesn’t seem to be happy. It is evident that there’s lot of pain behind his decision. Let his reveal what is the reason and the persons or forces behind him. The people of the State deserve an honest answer at least now.’’
Pointing out that he will come with his take on the resignation episode, he asked the Chief Minister to spell out whether he was pained by the sufferings of the people during the last two years on account of the Covid pandemic or whether he was hurt because the BJP high command failed to control the party legislators.
