Kasargod, Jul 26: In a shocking incident that took place on Monday July 26, dacoits bound the security guard of a jewellery shop at Manjeshwar Hosangadi and looted silver jewellery and cash from the shop.

The incident occurred at 2 am. The gang looted 15 kilo silver jewellery, 26 high end watches and Rs 4.5 lac in cash. Security guard Abdullah, resident of Kumble Kalathur is admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru. This dacoity took place at Rajadhani Jewellers on the side of NH of Hosangadi Pete.

In the primary investigation of the police, it has come to light that seven people were in the gang that carried out this dacoity. Police have collected CCTV footage.

This jewellery is owned by Ashraf of Manjeshwar. The dacoits first attacked security guard Abdulla on his head and then tied him up. Later they broke open the shutter and entered the shop. DySP Balakrishnan Nair informed that this must be the act of inter-state dacoits.

Manjeshwar police with canine squad and fingerprint experts are on the spot for further inspection.
