Mangaluru, Jul 26: President of BJP Karnataka state unit, Nalin Kumar Kateel, clarified that so far, he has got no information whatsoever about replacing the chief minister (CM), B S Yediyurappa. He expressed ignorance about the statement of the CM asking the people to wait for the developments.
"I do not want to comment on this issue. I fail to guess why CM asked the people to wait and see for themselves. The CM has completed two years in office and has given good administration. He has handled major issues like Covid 19 and flood efficiently. Even though the state took a beating in finances, he has declared good projects. Therefore, I congratulate him," he stated.
Nalin added that Yediyurappa is an ideal leader for the party workers, going by his statement that he will follow the instructions of the party leadership. He also appreciated the CM for saying that he is prepared to do what the party tells him. "We totally concur with him on this issue as we too believe in this principle. I am leaving for Delhi tomorrow to participate in the parliament session," he stated.
Nalin accompanied by MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, met ailing Congress Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes in Yenepoya Hospital in the city, after which he spoke to the media, on Sunday July 25. He also met Oscar's family members and said encouraging words. He hailed Oscar as a veteran statesman and gentleman politician whose services are badly needed by the country. "His health is improving. I pray for his early recovery and discharge from the hospital. I wish that he will continue to guide the country and the Rajya Sabha. I spoke to the doctors and they said his health is improving," he said.
