With 1,001 new infections, recoveries outnumber fresh cases in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Jul 25: The single-day tally of coronavirus cases in Karnataka dropped to 1,001 on Sunday July 25, one of the lowest in the last few months.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state have come down to 23,419. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stands at 165 new cases.

As many as 22 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Sunday, with Bengaluru Urban recording three deaths. With this, the toll so far has risen to 36,374.

The state recorded 1,465 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 28,34,741.

So far, Karnataka has seen 28,94,557 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day has dropped to 0.68%, while the case fatality rate for the day stands at 2.19%.

As many as 2,88,75,892 people have received vaccination so far.
