Bengaluru, Jul 24: Karnataka on Saturday July 24 continued to maintain a steady rate in the number of new coronavirus cases, with the state recording 1,857 new infections.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state have dropped to 23,905. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stands at 551 new cases, which is still the highest among all districts.
As many as 29 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Saturday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 9 deaths and Dakshina Kannada 4. With this, the toll so far has risen to 36,352.
The state recorded 2,050 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 28,33,276.
So far, Karnataka has seen 28,93,556 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day stands at 1.21%, while the case fatality rate for the day has dropped to 1.56%.
As many as 2,86,86,839 people have received vaccination so far.
