Puttur: 45-year-old absconding accused arrested after two years

Puttur, Jul 23: An accused, who absconded from attending the court since two years and went underground, was arrested by the police on Friday July 23.

Majid (45), son of Mohammed, resident of Gadiyara Mane, Kedila village in the taluk, went missing since two years. He was accused in a case and had to attend a court hearing.

On gathering information through sources, the police came to know that he lived in Bengaluru and Kolar and presently residing at Goodinabali of the taluk since three months.

Puttur city police station head constables Parameshwara and Suresh arrested him. He will be produced to court. This operation was carried out under the guidance of DySP of Puttur sub division and orders of SP and additional SP of Dakshina Kannada district and instructions of Puttur city police station inspector.
