Pune, Sep 8 (IANS): Two men arrested for the blast in Pune's German Bakery that killed 17 people Feb 13 this year, were Wednesday remanded in police custody.
Himayat Baig and Shaikh Lal Baba Mohammad Hussain Farid alias Bilal were nabbed from Pune and Nashik Tuesday by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
"Baig has been remanded in police custody till Sep 20, while we have got the custody of Bilal till Sep 14," said Maharashtra ATS chief Rakesh Maria.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan declared a prize money of Rs.5 lakh for the state ATS for cracking the case.
The ATS seized close to two kg of RDX, Islamist literature, bomb making manuals, US and Indian currencies, mobile phones and pen drives from the arrested men.
The blast, on the eve of Valentine's Day this year, killed 17 and injured more than 65 people. The terrorists targetted the German Bakery, a haunt of foreigners and the rich in Pune's trendy Koregaon Park area.
Among the victims were four foreigners -- an Italian woman, an Iranian and two Sudanese.
