Panaji, Jul 5: Fransisco Pacheco, former Nuvem MLA, popularly known as Mickky said on Sunday July 4 that he is interested to play one more innings in politics.

According to a statement given to scribes, Mickky said that he will join the Congress party soon and contest in the assembly elections that are due in 2022.

Mickky said that he is in contact with central Congress leaders and he is going to join the party along with 3,000 youth. He also said that he will put in all efforts to revive the party in Goa.

Fransisco however, does not agree that Congress should enter into any kind of alliance with other parties. On the contrary, he says that other parties should get merged with Congress and fight the election.

Mickky said that the state Congress president should not be changed now. He also urged the central Congress leaders to trust the current Goa Congress president Girish Chodankar. According to the former MLA, any change of guard will only increase rivalry within the party.

When questioned about the constituency from where he will contest, Fransisco said that he is not sure though he said that it might be Benaulim or Nuvem or from anywhere.
