Mangaluru: College bus with 40 women stopped by locals, GP members; complaint filed

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Jun 29: Locals and gram panchayat (GP) representatives of Nagabanahalli in Mulky raised objection over a bus from a private medical institution taking 40 women in it in the night on Monday June 28.

Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar, addressing media on Tuesday June 29, said, “Suspecting foul play, the locals objected and based on their complaint, probe has been ordered and investigation in on.

“When the locals questioned, they claimed they were taking the 40 women for vaccination. All 40 women were locals. Taking 40 women in the night for vaccination, without any social distancing in the bus and breaking Covid guidelines, made the locals suspicious. If at all it was for vaccination. We do not understand the logic behind 40 people being taken from Mulky to Deralakatte in a college bus for vaccination.

“The investigation is under progress. We have detained the driver and a nurse for further enquiry,” he said.

Bomb scare at Moodbidri

A bomb scare situation occurred at Badaga in Moodbidri where a country made grenade was found. It was planted with an intestine of chicken to trap wild animals and the target seemed to be wild pigs.

The police commissioner said that the person who had planted the explosive is yet to be identified. A case has been filed under Explosives Act and Wild Life Act, he said.

Traffic issues in city

“Since the state government relaxed the lockdown timings, heavy traffic congestion is being witnessed at prime locations in Mangaluru,” police commissioner said.

He further said, “Development works are being carried out in the city which has led to traffic congestion in addition to the relation in lockdown timings. We will pay visit to the places which are experiencing heavy traffic and take measures to resolve the issue.”

Why all from mulky then ? Around Deralakatte, there are no guinea pigs ? Something fishy. ..whatever it is, why they wanted to take them in the night ? That too only ladies and from one place only ? If they would visit my area, i would have gone as 41st place....

This is a common practice by all private medical colleges . During inspections people are paid to fill up the beds and show the inspectors that they have patients. It has been going on for a long time - nothing new or to be surprised about . Similar to elections where people are paid to vote for a particular party . Jai Hind

Vaccines a big problem, the vaccines should be given at the Government hospitals, health centers in a systematic way, in Wenlock district hospital now there is no vaccine available for people below 45 years. Where do they go? they consist of migrant labour, domestic helpers, and others who can afford go to private hospitals. College students are vaccinated in colleges. The vaccination drive is becoming bad and not helpful to everyone.
