Mangaluru, Jun 23: Srinivas University (SU), College of Management and Commerce organizes online job fair programme, professsional resume writing training, competitive exam training and interview training workshops for students who will be completing their degree soon thereby making them future ready.
Keeping in mind the need to have students who are equipped with all the skills needed for getting good placements, the College of Management and Commerce organized several activities for its students of various courses – BCom - Honours, BCom ACCA, BCom USA CMA, BBA - Logistics and Supply Chain Management, BBA Port, Shipping and Logistics Management, BBA Hospital Administration, BBA International Business, BBA Financial services, BBA – Hospital Administration and BBA – Public Administration with IAS training and MBA (Dual Specialization, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and MCom (dual specialization).
The students learnt how to create a professional resume, how to create a digital profile and presence, how to face interviews and faced mock interviews through online workshops keeping in mind to benefit their future career, internships and placements.
An online job fair was organized by the training and placement department, the online career expo bought out job offers from 60 plus companies across various spectrum providing 183 plus open positrions for final year entry level students of the college. Students were interviewed based on video profile and online interviews on Zoom, Skype and Google meet. Many students were selected to join after completion of the course.
A training on writing competitive exams and short service commission exams was also
conducted by Arun Shiva Salian of Civil Academy. An interactive talk session on job opportunties in the logistics, port, shipping management and supply chain industries - the evergreen sector, by Ren T Dias was arranged to equip the students and guide them on the requirements of the industry and opportunties available to prepare them to land attractive job offers.
The various activties were organized by coordination of the placement officer, Professor Varun Shenoy, Dr Sonia Noronha and Professor Nelson Periera, coordinators of BBA Course and Professor Sharmila Shetty, BCom coordinator, under the guidance of Professor Keerthana Raj, dean of the college. The College of Management and Commerce offers various undergraduate, post graduate programmes as BBA, BCom, MBA and MCom and doctoral programmes.
