Mangaluru: Milagres College holds virtual Students Capacity Building Programme

Mangaluru, Jun 21: The department of Commerce and Commerce association in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Milagres College on June 19 organised a Virtual Students Capacity Building Programme (SCBP)-11 on the topic 'Intellectual Property Rights: Issues and Challenges' for III BCom, III BSc(FND) and Commerce association students.

The resource person was Fr Francis Assissi Almeida (MA, LLM), director of Sandesh Foundation of Culture and Education and presently pursuing Phd in Law Alliance University, Bengaluru. He shared his knowledge and experience in Intellectual Property Rights and Patents covering areas on copyrights, trademarks and licencing by giving various real-life examples. He also spoke on the importance of IPR in economic growth and job creation and various IPR related sections.

Fr Michael L Santhumayor, the principal introduced the resource person and encouraged the students to take active part SCBP. Wilma Fernandes and Lavita Pereira, faculty of Commerce coordinated the programme.

The session was very fruitful and beneficial for the students. 101 students along with Commerce staff participated and benefited from this session.
