Karkala: Rare coincidence - Brothers depart hours apart due to illness, injury

Karkala, Jun 15: In an incident depicting a rare coincidence reported from the town, two brothers died on Monday June 14. They have been identified as Rajaram Rao (55) residing near Gundaje, Miyar, Sanoor, and Ganesh Rao (60) from Sanoor Chikkabettu.

Rajaram Rao died on June 14 morning in a private hospital here while Ganesh Rao breathed his last in a private hospital at Manipal. Ganesh Rao was suffering from jaundice, while Rajaram Rao was injured in an accident.

Rajaram is survived by wife and a daughter. He was a tailor and also functioned as driver of goods tempo. He had served many families by cremating hundreds of bodies in the public graveyard at Kariyakallu and was known with the nickname, 'Satya Harishchandra' on this account. He had been felicitated by many organizations in recognition of his selfless services to the society.
