Udupi, Jun 12: “Congress senior leader Digvijay Singh should be expelled from the Congress party for his anti-national statement over revoking Article 370', said Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje.
It may be recalled, Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Saturday was heard saying that he will relook over the decision to revoke article 370 if brought to power. He was heard saying this in an interview to a Pakistan-based journalist Shahzeb on the Clubhouse app. The audio clip was released by BJP.
Reacting on the issue on Saturday June 12, MP Shobha said, “Congress party has lost its mental stability. Congress leaders do not seem to realise that their statements are anti-national. Congress party is reason for the division of Kashmir. Lacs of Hindus have been killed. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru kept silent. Muslims forced Kashmiri Pandits to leave the state. Many girls have been raped and harassed.
“Congress kept supporting Pakistan. Our soldiers were assaulted by them, but no one raised voice against such cruelty. The entire nation knew that all things were happening due to Article 370.
“Article 370 was revoked by BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah, in a bid to integrate Jammu and Kashmir with India, which is necessary for every Kashmiri citizen. Now Kashmir is peaceful and their life becoming normal.
“Congress needs to clarify if Digvijay Singh’s statement is his personal view or that of the Congress party. If it is his personal statement, let the party expel him from Congress immediately.
“Congress is continuously motivating anti-national activities. The party should say that Kashmir and its people belong to India, but they do not say so. Rahul Gandhi also opposed the cancellation of Article 370. What is the motive of Congress party? It has once again proved that it is ready to sell any parts of our country to get back to power in Delhi and they are ready to play any cheap tricks.
“Congress is not a national party, but it an anti-national party and now it is proved.
“I would demand the Congress high command Sonia Gandhi to expel Digvijay Sigh from the party. Why is she silent? What is the opinion of Congress on Kashmir? I will also demand the concerned police department to file sedition case against him,” she said.
